Ice Cream Value Study

So this was another idea from Pinterest that I thought was really great...so I came up with a fun way to teach the kids about color value as well as complimentary colors.  First we folded our paper into 6 spaces, then we painted the original color in one square, added a little white to paint another, and then even more to paint another.  We did the same thing with the black paint - giving us 5 colors.

Patiently waited a week for the paint to dry and then traced ice cream scoop shape and cut them out.  Then we stacked them and glued onto the complementary color of our ice cream.  Added a cherry and some sprinkles and it was almost good enough to eat!
